August 2023, my grandmother lost her friend, companion, and husband: my grandfather. For the first time in my life, I saw my grandmother sob terribly and every one of her teardrops ravaged my heart into millions of pieces. Her eyes were hollow like they lost the meaning of life but I wanted to tell her that she still had love from her family. Guitar in hand, I showed my affections through singing "걱정말아요 그대", which translates to "Don't Worry Dear", a song of nostalgia. It simply portrays the theme of burying the past sorrowful memories through sincere, candid lyrics. The accompanying guitar finger styling presented a soft tender melody which gave warmth to the words.

During the performance, I saw tears dropping from my grandmother's eyes but this time, they were full of warmth. When I gave her a hug after my performance was over, I felt that she understood my affections. The fact that my guitar and my voice can bestow and express love to other people is the reason why I play guitar.
